In part one of the video, photographer Zack Arias explains the basics of setting up a seamless white backdrop. Although Zack is a photographer, the same principles apply with shooting video. Matter of fact, he starts off by using continuous lights…perfect for the beginning videographer.
Next up in the series, Zack gets a little more advanced by going into shooting with strobes. Although this is a video website, it pays to understand thoroughly how this principle works. Strobes are meant for photography so that you get a sudden burst of light at the moment the shutter on the camera opens. It is a bit more difficult to calculate the lighting with strobes because you have to dial in the right settings without being able to see the lighting you are trying to produce. Watch Zack as he explains this.
