Over the years we have seen the dapper secret agent go from a mostly comical agent to a more serious role. We have the seen the actors change. The cars have changed (even from brand to brand). With the exception of Skyfall however, every single movie was shot on 35mm film. With the addition of Spectre, the creators wanted to retain that feel that film produces. It gives a sense of truth and depth that just cant be replicated. My favorite scene in the whole movie (oddly enough) is the very beginning sequence. In the beginning, there is a parade happening in Mexico City and the camera follows a character through the crowds and into a building. I don’t want to divulge too much info but pay attention to the fact that there isn’t a single cut for a few minutes into the movie. The shot is one continuous scene that must have been extraordinarily difficult to produce. Add to it the fact that was shot on film instead of digital and you have yourself a masterpiece.
